The Dialogue Controller

As we stated beore MIU main tasks are to guide the user in the invocation of the operations of the application and in the correct synthesis of values. Another important task (although many times forgotten) is the presentation of resuls. We can then divide the interaction into two phases: first, the selection of the operation to call, and then, the introduction of values for its arguments and the visualization of its result.

It as also been said that sematic validations are very important for a good Assisted Mode. At the Dialogue Controller level we will focus on the verification of the operations' pre-conditions. This will be reflected in the methodology developed for its specification.

We can view the information we need to build the Dialogue Controller specification at two levels:

For the specification of the Dialogue Controller, a formalism was developed which was called Guiões de Interacção (GI).
